We are looking for

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to take ownership of planned preventative maintenance, ensuring our NIR Grader, Goldwood, and Packhouse machinery operate at peak performance while maintaining the highest standards of quality

The position

As part of our engineering team, you will:

  • Collaborate with Engineering Supervisors to manage equipment and tool purchases cost-effectively.
  • Work alongside Managers, Supervisors, Line Leaders, manufacturers, and suppliers to maximise equipment efficiency.
  • Carry out regular planned preventative maintenance across the site to reduce downtime
  • Respond promptly and effectively to breakdowns, minimising disruption to production.
  • Recommend solutions that align with our engineering strategy to further reduce downtime
  • Identify and implement improvements in machine performance.
  • Complete maintenance, servicing, and general engineering tasks, escalating issues where necessary
  • Ensure all machinery, plant, and equipment are maintained to company standards.
  • Accurately complete production and compliance paperwork to remain audit-ready at all times.
  • Safely carry out electrical maintenance and escalate any issues as required.
  • Keep detailed, accurate records of all engineering activities to support audit compliance.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience as a mechanical or electrical engineer.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Clear, effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Previous experience in the food manufacturing industry (desirable).
  • A self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach.
  • Flexibility and resilience to adapt to changing priorities.
