We are looking for a positive individual with a good sense of balance and eye-hand-foot coordination. In addition, you should be able to operate a forklift while adhering to all procedures relating to its safe operation.
The position
- Conduct regular customer asset stock counts
- Liaise with the production planner to ascertain production requirements for the day/week for all customer pallets, trays, and equipment
- Check promotional calendars to proactively plan for extra asset equipment needs
- Liaise with all tray companies to make sure all requirements for the business are fulfilled
- Raising tray orders in good time
- De-hire trays and pallets and dispatched daily to keep balances correct
- Communicate forecast quantities for trays or pallet companies and to confirm quantities required on a weekly basis and ensure requirements are not cut back
- Conduct customer system and physical tray and pallet stock counts on a regular basis to ensure asset balances match
- Keep tray, pallet and equipment spreadsheets updated daily to ensure the accounts team have access to quantities and delivery information when reconciling invoices
- Liaise with hauliers and tray companies to order transport and confirm collections and returns for the business
- Unload asset deliveries for the site when needed
- Alert Production Manager and the production team if for any reason, there will be any perceived shortfall in asset availability
- Investigate, challenge and if necessary, dispute any shorts delivery with suppliers
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is correct and produced in a timely manner
- Ensure all trays or pallets are controlled and accounted for in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures and in line with customers specifications
- Liaise with equipment companies (e.g. plastic/wood pallet, plastic/cardboard trays, BDU’s, palletisers etc.)
- Arrange return of broken or redundant trays or pallets
- Ensure any visitor (e.g. external tray auditors) entering the work area follow the correct entry procedure and are suitably dressed for that area
- When dealing with suppliers act with professionalism and be courteous
- Keep areas where trays, pallets and other equipment are stored clean and tidy
- Ensure regular forklift safety checks are conducted following company protocols and forklift is well maintained before and after use
Person Specification
- A good sense of balance
- Good eye-hand-foot coordination
- Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (depending upon season)
- Flexible attitude towards time management is vital
- Carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
- Counter Balance Forklift license preferred (not mandatory)
