A group of good Samaritans have raised £3,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support after they embarked on an incredible walk from Moulton Bulb Company to Skegness.

There were ten people in the group in all, with eight walking and two in support vehicles, in a 40-mile journey that took from 5am until 11pm through the pouring rain.

One of the main organisers was participant Kelly Sadeq (33), who said: “We’re very glad to have raised so much money. It was our first time at something like this.

“We do plan to do something like this again in the future but we haven’t decided what that is yet.

“Unfortunately I think it was the only day it poured with rain all summer!”

It’s terrific achievement for all involved and was for a very worthy cause.

Miss Sadeq thanked John Grimwood and Robert Oldershaw for all the help and support they gave them.

They loaned them the support vehicles and Miss Sadeq said it would have been a lot harder without their help.

Following the success of Good Natured strawberries, carrots and all other number of fruit and vegetables, Angus Soft Fruit who are behind the brand, approached us back in 2009. Since then we have been working closely with them to grow a crop of onions which is guarenteed pesticide residue free. The Good Natured brand is seen as a half way house between conventionally grown and organic produce and Moulton Bulb Co. are proud to be associated with this brand. Good Natured Onions launch in Asda on 27th October.

We are delighted to announce that from next week (26th October) we will be recommencing our working relationship with Sainsbury's as we start supply of conventional and organic onions into their Waltham Point depot. Having not supplied Sainsbury's since 2006, we are very pleased to be given another opportunity,.

From Tuesday 4th October, Waitrose will be stocking some seriously large onions. We have sourced these Extra Large Onions from our dedicated grower base in Spain and they are the size of an average grapefruit. These onions are great for anyone who simply loves their onions and wants to add that little bit more oniony goodness to their cooking.
