We also try and recycle as much as possible. We compost all of our packhouse waste and spread it back onto the land as a sustainable way of fighting onion disease and fertilising the soil.

Where possible we keep waste separate and either enhance the compost with degradable waste or utilise specialist recycling plants.

The companies within the Oldershaw Group recognise that their business activities have an impact on the environment .The Directors and Managers of the Oldershaw Group of Companies within this policy commit themselves to reduce this impact on the environment where practically possible and commercially feasible.

• Minimise waste generation.
• Adopt such procedures that are necessary to ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation.
• Pursue an environmentally sound transport strategy.
• Develop and promote environmentally sound agricultural systems.
